Automotive gas oil (AGO) is a diesel fuel used mainly in Africa and carries a high flashpoint is essentially a fuel for diesel engines In commercial vehicles and some private cars.
The name ‘gas oil’ is derived from the product’s use for the purification of town gas in the first half of the twentieth century, before the widespread use of natural gas. It is a distillate product, Intermediate between kerosene and atmospheric residue, the latter being the heaviest component obtained from atmospheric distillation.
